Downtown Dubai & Business Bay

This is the city center of Dubai and the area where you’ll find the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall. If you’ve wanting to be in the heart of all the action, then this is the area for you! You’re also not too far away from the historic area of Dubai, the airport and also Dubai’s nightlife.

1. Ramada Downtown Dubai

This hotel is in a good location in Downtown Dubai, it’s close to Burj Park and Dubai Opera so you can get a wonderful view of the fountains and Burj Khalifa.

You can walk to Dubai Mall through Burj Park in about 10 minutes and is even walkable to Burj Khalifa. Though their long driveway isn’t very pedestrian friendly, so it’s better to drive or get a taxi if you do wish to visit. You can find our handy guide about visiting Burj Khalifa here.

This is one of the few hotels in Dubai that is a dry hotel, meaning they do not serve alcohol. So this tends to make it a less expensive to stay here compared with other hotels.

Barsha Heights & Central Dubai

Set right in the middle of Dubai, this area is perfect for those who want great value but also want to be able to easily get to both Dubai Marina and Downtown Dubai. Here you’ll find Mall of Emirates.

Further back, you’ll also find Jumeirah Village Circle, Jumeirah Village Triangle & Motor City. This area is located behind Al Barsha so it’s still centrally located just a little bit further back from the Sheikh Zayed Road. Attractions include Dubai Autodrome, Dubai Miracle Garden and Dubai Butterfly Garden.

2. Mercure Dubai Barsha Heights Hotel

Making it to this list is Mercure Barsha Heights hotel, offering four star serviced apartments at relatively lower prices than its counterparts.

It is a 41 storied building offering 1015 suites and serviced apartments. It offers views of Dubai Marina and Madinat Jumeirah including Burj Al Arab. With it’s central location, the property is close to The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina, JBR, and Dubai Tram.

One of the very recent additions to Dubai’s skyline is Jumeirah Village circle. This 41 storey tall building was constructed in 2021. The building design is extremely sleek.

As it is new, the interiors are nice and shiny. Guests love the buffet breakfast served here which can be included depending on the room type you book. The reviews of this hotel are pretty positive making it an extremely hot property to stay in.

One of the oldest areas in Dubai, you’re close to the historical areas of Dubai. So if you’re planning to visit Dubai Museum, Dubai Frame, The Gold Souq or Spice Souq. This area is ideal for those wanting a more cultural trip in Dubai. You’re also very close to the airport and not too far from Downtown Dubai.

6. Al Jawhara Gardens Hotel

Sometimes you just want the most affordable option possible and Al Jawhara Gardens Hotel is it! This is literally the cheapest 4 star hotel on the list, excluding the ones with terrible reviews of course! We don’t want you to be having an awful experience in Dubai.

Queen Elizabeth 2 also boasts the oldest pub in Dubai onboard: The Golden Lion. On top of this, they run heritage tours of the ship. 10. Legoland Hotel Dubai

If you are visiting Dubai with kids, this hotel is for you! All over the hotel you can find Lego blocks and figurines which tend to keep the little ones engaged and busy.

When you book a stay, you get one free pass to either ‘Legoland’ or ‘Legoland water park’. Legoland is a resort, hence a bit far from the main area of Dubai. There isn’t a connecting metro to this area, so I highly recommend to hire a car if you do plan to stay here.
